Do Social Media and Food Mix?

Having just been part of a team of Extension Faculty from North Dakota State University and the University of Nebraska Extension, who created an online curriculum entitled Direct Marketing of Specialty Food Products – I certainly believe there is a place to reach a whole new audience thru social media!

But as with everything – it takes time and when a food business should be ‘social’ online – that is the time they are busiest with raising their product/bottling their product or greeting customers!

This article “Social Media and Food” focused on 5 things to help Food Businesses consider being online with their conversation:

  2. Provide information people want
  3. Don’t Neglect Mobile
  4. Highlight Trends
  5. Ask for input

These best practices remind me of what I should do and be deliberate about it in providing information!
